The problem
In the modern workplace, organisations rely more and more on Microsoft 365 for communication, collaboration and document management. What many businesses do not know: data in the cloud is not automatically protected against loss.
Microsoft 365 does have built-in safety nets, such as a recycle bin and version history, but they are limited in time. Permanently deleted email can only be recovered for 14 days by default, and deleted files in SharePoint and OneDrive stay in the recycle bin for 93 days. If a mistake is only discovered later, or your environment is hit by an attack, that data is gone.
With Microsoft 365 Backup you choose certainty, speed and control: your business data is kept safely outside your own environment and can always be recovered.

What is backed up, and for how long?
The backup covers your email (Exchange Online), OneDrive and SharePoint, with a retention of 1 year. The subscription is per email account.
Doesn't Microsoft back up my data itself?
Microsoft makes sure the service keeps running, but is not responsible for restoring data that you, a colleague or an attacker deletes or encrypts. The built-in recycle bin and version history are limited in time and are kept in the same environment as your data.
Will my employees notice anything?
No. The backup runs automatically in the background, without anyone having to install anything or work differently.
How do I request a restore?
Contact our service desk and tell us what you have lost and roughly when it was still there. We do the rest.
