IT that moves as fast as your business

In transport and logistics the world never stands still, and neither does your IT. Planning software, WMS systems and links with clients must always be available. An outage affects your business, and with it your clients.

Continuity first

NSO supports mobility, real-time insight and continuity. We set up your IT so that an outage in one place does not immediately bring everything to a halt, and we keep up to date with developments in your market.

Our approach

How we keep your logistics moving

  • Systems available day and night

Your planning, TMS or WMS must not go down. We set up your environment so that an outage in one place does not immediately bring everything to a halt.

    • A backup connection if the internet line goes down
    • Continuous monitoring of network and systems
    • Maintenance at times that do not affect operations
    • Agreements on priority during outages
  • Drivers and warehouse well connected

Drivers, planners and warehouse staff work with phones, tablets and handheld scanners. They must always work, and be secure.

    • Phones, tablets and scanners managed centrally
    • A Wi-Fi network with full coverage in the warehouse
    • New devices set up quickly and automatically
    • A lost device can be locked remotely
  • Protected against an attack that halts the supply chain

A cyberattack can hit your business, and your clients and partners too. With good security and an immutable backup, you limit that risk.

    • Modern security on all devices
    • Two-step verification for all accounts
    • An immutable backup as a safety net
    • Security requirements of clients and supply chain partners met
  • Prepared for an outage

If something does go wrong, you don't want to have to think about what to do. With a continuity plan, everyone knows what happens and what needs to work again first.

    • A plan with clear priorities
    • Agreements on how long recovery may take
    • An offline list of contacts
    • Practising together once a year

Continuity

What if the internet connection goes down?

This is how we make sure an outage does not bring your operations to a halt.

Plan an introduction
  1. 04:30

    Planning starts the day

Planners and drivers start early. Planning, TMS and the links with clients are running as normal.

  2. 04:32

    The main connection drops

Due to an outage at the provider, the internet line goes down. The backup connection takes over automatically, so work carries on.

  3. 04:35

    The outage is reported automatically

Monitoring registers the outage and creates a ticket. That way we know exactly what happened.

  4. 08:00

    Resolved, without downtime

We resolve the outage together with the provider and switch back to the main connection. Nobody was affected.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about IT for transport and logistics

Is your question not listed? Feel free to call us, we are happy to think along with you.

How do I prevent downtime during an IT outage?

By duplicating critical components, such as a backup connection alongside your main connection, and by continuously monitoring your systems. We also draw up a continuity plan, so everyone knows what to do if something does go wrong.

Can handheld scanners and tablets be managed centrally?

Yes. We manage phones, tablets and scanners centrally, so they are set up automatically, stay up to date and can be locked remotely if they are lost.

What happens if our planning software goes down?

We agree with your software supplier who does what during an outage. If we look after the environment around it, we resolve it or bring in the supplier. A continuity plan makes clear in advance how you can carry on in the meantime.

How do I secure links with clients and partners?

By limiting external access to what is really needed, encrypting connections and flagging anything unusual. That way the links stay reliable, without your network being wide open.

Do you also look after the environment around our TMS or WMS?

Yes. We make sure your TMS and WMS run on a stable, well-monitored and secure environment, with reliable connections to clients and partners. For how the software package itself works, we coordinate with your software supplier.
