IT for manufacturing companies, so production keeps running
Every minute of downtime costs money. We provide IT your production can keep running on, with secure connections between the office and the shop floor.

IT that suits the manufacturing industry
The manufacturing industry is digitalising at a rapid pace. Machines, ERP and office IT are becoming more and more intertwined, and that also makes them more vulnerable. NSO has served companies in this segment since it was founded and knows the challenges up close.
The office and the shop floor securely separated
We provide a robust, scalable and secure IT environment in which the office and the shop floor are securely separated from each other. We resolve faults quickly, and we plan maintenance around your production, so you can focus on what you make.
Industry software
Software for engineering and production
Designing in 3D, drawing in 2D and planning production in your ERP. This kind of software asks a lot of your workstations and your network. We make sure the environment around it is fast, stable and secure.
What we take care of around it
- Workstations with enough computing power and a suitable graphics card for CAD
- Installation, updates and licence management
- Coordination with your software supplier on faults and upgrades
- Fast, secure storage and backup of drawings and models
- A stable environment for your ERP system, on premises or in the cloud
CAD and engineering
- SOLIDWORKS
- Autodesk Inventor
- AutoCAD
- Solid Edge
Product data
- SOLIDWORKS PDM
ERP and production planning
- Exact Globe
- SAP Business One
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
Do you use a different package? Let us know, and together we will look at how to set up the environment around it properly.
Our approach
How we keep your production running
Preventing downtime on the shop floor
An IT fault can bring a complete production line to a halt. Through proactive management and monitoring, we spot problems early, and we plan maintenance around your production hours.
- Monitoring of the network, servers and workstations at the line
- Updates and maintenance outside production hours
- Fast replacement of a faulty PC or terminal
- Agreements on priority for faults that affect production
Machines and the office securely connected
Modern machines are increasingly connected to the network. That brings opportunities, but also risks. By separating office IT and machines from each other, a problem does not spread.
- Machines and OT systems in their own network segment
- Access for machine builders only when needed, and logged
- Insight into which devices are connected to your network
- Advice on machines with outdated software
An ERP system you can rely on
Your ERP system is the heart of planning, stock and invoicing. We make sure the environment around it is stable, fast and secure, on premises or in the cloud.
- Stable servers or a reliable cloud environment
- Backups that we test regularly
- Coordination with your ERP supplier on updates and faults
- Fast, secure access from the office and the shop floor
Meeting the requirements of customers and supply chain partners
Large clients increasingly ask about your information security, especially now that NIS2 (in the Netherlands the Cyberbeveiligingswet, the Cybersecurity Act) sets requirements for the whole supply chain.
- Insight into what NIS2 means for your business
- Measures based on the CCV risk class classification
- Help with completing security questionnaires
- A partner that is ISO 27001 certified itself
Workstations for the office and the shop floor
At the office everyone works on their own laptop, on the shop floor often on shared PCs, tablets or scanners. Both need their own, suitable setup.
- Shared workstations with fast, secure sign-in
- Tablets and scanners managed centrally
- Security that also works in a production environment
- One service desk for the office and the shop floor
In practice
A production day without IT worries
This is how we support you, from the morning shift to the maintenance in the evening.
Plan an introduction- 06:00
The morning shift starts
Scanners, terminals and the planning in the ERP system simply work. The network on the shop floor is separated from the office and is monitored continuously.
- 09:30
Remote maintenance by the machine builder
The machine builder wants to take a look remotely. He gets temporary, controlled access to only that one machine, and afterwards the access is closed again.
- 13:00
A PC at the line gives up
A call to the service desk is enough. The replacement PC is set up with the same settings, so the line can get going again quickly.
- 22:00
Updates outside production hours
Security updates are installed when production is at a standstill. The next morning everything is running again, up to date and secure.

Services that make the difference in this sector
Infrastructure & Network
When the network falters, work grinds to a halt. We provide a stable, fast and secure network at the office, on the production floor and on location.
Cyber Security
A cyberattack can bring your business to a standstill for days. We provide layered security that prevents attacks, detects them quickly and limits the damage.
Backup & Continuity
An attack, a human error or a failed disk. The question isn't whether you'll lose data, but when. With a good backup you're back at work quickly.
Frequently asked questions
Questions about IT for manufacturing companies
Is your question not listed? Feel free to call us, we are happy to think along with you.
How do you secure machines and OT systems in a manufacturing company?
By placing machines in their own, shielded part of the network, you prevent a problem at the office from spreading to production, and the other way round. We also limit access to what is really needed and keep track of which devices are connected to the network.
Can IT updates be carried out outside production hours?
Yes. We plan updates and maintenance around your production hours as much as possible, so the shop floor is not affected. We agree critical security updates with you.
How do I give a machine builder secure remote access?
With a secure connection that only gives access to the machine in question, only when needed, and that is logged. That way the supplier can help without your whole network being open.
Does my manufacturing company fall under NIS2?
That depends on your sector and the size of your business; parts of the manufacturing industry fall under it directly. Even if yours does not, you often have to deal with it through your customers. We are happy to map out what it means for your business.
Which workstation do I need for SOLIDWORKS or AutoCAD?
CAD software needs a lot of computing power and a suitable graphics card that is supported by the software maker. We advise on workstations that suit the packages and models you work with, and set them up with the right settings and drivers.
