Cyber Security

Security for your devices: antivirus, and with Standard also EDR

On every laptop and PC we deploy antivirus against known threats. With Standard we add EDR with behavioural analysis, which recognises suspicious behaviour and intervenes straight away.

The problem

A traditional virus scanner mainly recognises known threats. But attackers are getting smarter: they use new variants, or misuse ordinary programs and stolen accounts, so a virus scanner sees nothing. Ransomware can then encrypt files within a short time, on one laptop and then across the whole network.

That is why we deploy antivirus on every workstation against known threats. With Modern Workplace Standard we add EDR, which recognises suspicious behaviour and intervenes straight away, with our 24/7 Security Operations Center behind it.

What will you notice?

Your staff will not notice it in their daily work. There are no notifications to click away; those come to us.

What it does for you

How Device security helps you

  1. 01

    Known threats stopped

Our antivirus recognises and blocks viruses and other malicious software before it can do any damage. With all Modern Workplace packages.

  2. 02

    Suspicious behaviour recognised (Standard)

EDR continuously monitors the behaviour of every device. If a program suddenly tries to encrypt files or send data out, EDR sees it, stops it and alerts us.

  3. 03

    Specialists keeping watch (Standard)

With Standard, EDR works together with our 24/7 Security Operations Center. Where EDR responds automatically, the specialists make sure suspicious situations are properly investigated and followed up.

How it works

How we arrange it

Not a technical story, but what happens and who does what.

Plan an introduction
  1. Step 1

    On every device

We install the security on all laptops and PCs we manage. New devices get it automatically.

  2. Step 2

    Always up to date

The security is updated automatically, so new threats are recognised too.

  3. Step 3

    Alerts come to us

If the security spots something suspicious, the alert comes to us, not to your staff.

  4. Step 4

    Intervene and follow up

We assess the alert and intervene where needed. With Standard, EDR responds automatically straight away and the SOC investigates what happened.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about Device security

Is your question not listed? Feel free to call us, we are happy to think along with you.

What is the difference between antivirus and EDR?

Antivirus recognises known malicious software, a bit like a list of known burglars. EDR (Endpoint Detection & Response) looks at behaviour: even an unknown attacker stands out if they do things that are not right, and EDR can intervene straight away. Together they offer much better protection than a virus scanner alone.

What is included in which package?

With Essentials you get antivirus and basic protection against ransomware. With Standard we add EDR with behavioural analysis, together with 24/7 monitoring and analysis by our Security Operations Center.

Do I need this if I have Microsoft Defender?

Windows has built-in protection, but without someone who looks at the alerts and responds to them, it stays a warning on the screen. With us, the alerts come in centrally and we intervene when needed.
